据了解，眼保健操是1963年，由北京医学院（现北京大学医学部）体育教研室刘世铭主任自创的。当时有8节，不但有文字说明介绍怎么做，还配有穴位图。同年，北京市景山学校、北门仓小学、28中等学校开始试做这套眼保健操。
刘老师对中医按摩有很深的造诣，他自身有眼疾，在平时的摸索中，创建了一套眼保健操治疗自己的眼疾，取得了一定的疗效。此时，正值北京市教育局在全市中小学进行视力普查，调查结果很令人着急。市卫生防疫站医生和教育局领导多方查询得知刘世明自创的保健操，于是他们积极研究、探讨，终于创出了8节的眼保健操。眼保健操与课间操一样，是一群众性的运动项目，它可以提高人们的眼保健意识，调整眼及头部的血循环，调节肌肉，改善眼的疲劳。”
1972年，为了让眼保健操更容易掌握，眼科专家们对其进行了简化。最终将8节简化成5节，并做了部分改动。在北京，1976年，专家们又开始为眼保健操拍挂图、灌唱片。最后选中了北京市崇文区光明小学的一名女生录口令。这5节操从1972年起，延续至今。
改编后的操由上海眼病防治所编，1982年由教育部等十部委向全国推广。眼睛是一个极其重要而复杂的人体视觉器官。祖国中医理论研究证实，人体十二条经络均与眼睛有密切联系。当身体任何一条经络发生障碍时，都对眼睛产生直接或间接的影响。这套新编眼保健操，通过对不同穴位的不同按摩手法，以达到通经络，养气血，消除劳，增进视力和预防近视的功效。全操共分六节，均为四八拍，用４分钟左右的时间做完。眼保健操是根据祖国医学推拿、经络理论，结合体育医疗综合而成的按摩法。它通过对眼部周围穴位的按摩，使眼内气血通畅，改善神经营养，以达到消除睫状肌紧张或痉挛的目的。实践表明，眼保健操同用眼卫生相结合，可以控制近视眼的新发病例，起到保护视力、防治近视的作用。(详情)

( 3 / 8496 )Still remeber when i was in high school 1993, the friend and i listen this song again agin with a small tape recorder the sound quality is really bad, sometime even stop suddenly. Never read the lyrics carefully, just like this song. today finally read the lyrics and know this is a pretty sad story.

In 1999 summer, it was my first time to hear this song. I was studing english and knew some new friends from Si-Chuan, one guy bought a tape with only two songs, one is Eyes on me and another is 红豆. So we just play these two songs day after day in Beijing's hot summer, and just listening no any words, quite.
In these days this song came to my mind all the time no matter taking shower or driving alone, just any time.
Wish all my firends good luck and happy all the time.
